Annapolis, Maryland Courthouse Elopement | Maryland Wedding Photographer

You know when you meet someone and you immediately have a connection with them. You feel like you’ve known them your whole life and you think to yourself…”where have you been all of my life?” We met at a summer job during our college break maybe 6 years ago and ever since then she’s become one of my closest friends. So when she called me and told me she was getting married, I was so excited for her. When she asked me to photograph her elopement

I was even more excited, and most of all humbled.I thought back to a time a few years ago when I was pouring my heart out to her expressing how I wanted so badly to be a full time professional photographer. I was SO over photography being just a hobby of mine. It was my passion and I wanted to be a Photographer. I wished, prayed, practiced, studied, and hoped that it would come true.  But my only issue was that I didn’t believe that I could do it. But as I poured my heart out to her, she believed I could do it. She believed in me and it gave me the courage to believe in myself.

She’s been one of my biggest supporters and has been there every step of the way. When I told her I was moving to New York and starting my Photography Business, she was there to cheer me on. Photographing such an important day in anyone’s life is a lot of pressure, but photographing a friends wedding made me really nervous. It's like an extra set of expectations on your shoulders. But on the flip side, it was really exciting because I knew that she knew me and trusted me and she was open to experimenting for some cool portraits. And, extra bonus we have special inside jokes so it was so easy to make her laugh!

On the day of, I was stuck in traffic, I drove 2 hours in the wrong direction, and it was probably 100 degrees outside. So this only added to my nervousness. But, it was such a perfect day to get married and I loved every minute of standing in the sweltering heat with these two on their special day. I loved the simplicity of the day. We had no timelines or schedules to adhere to. It was just the three of us (besides the officiant of course) and I felt like the third wheel that everyone wants.

I mean who doesn’t want a friend, who happens to be a photographer, photograph you on your wedding day.It was so fun! Let’s just say now I have the elopement bug and this wedding has definitely sparked my new obsession with photographing elopements.  I'm so grateful that I was able to photograph this wedding. Did I mention that I really love elopements? Thank you for allowing me to capture your Wedding day! I'm so grateful to have been able to document it for you. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you two and I wish you nothing but happiness!
